On receipt of your order, your specimens will be reserved and we shall contact you via e-mail with payment details.

SHIPPING: All of our specimens are carefully packaged and marked as fragile. As soon as your package has been posted, we shall e-mail you with the tracking number of the parcel. Courier services are available on request.  All specimens are posted within 24 hours of payment confirmation, except where it is over a weekend or public holiday, in which case it will be posted on the first working day thereaft

Our parcels are generally sent via post office airmail (with a tracking number) with a 4-8 weeks delivery period, or by DHL courierier.

CALCULATING THE POSTAGE AND HANDLING FEE:  We determine the postage cost using our post office tariffs (which increase yearly on the 1st of April), and gets calculated according to the weight of each package. Small packages get registered, and have a prescribed fee. We add a flat rate per order for our actual expenses (packaging material, fuel etc.) of R 30 (less than US $ 2), calculated according to the exchange rate on the day the invoice is made out. Only on really big orders, where much more than the usual packaging material is required, we charge R40 (just over US $ 2). Then the prescribed banking cost gets determined as a percentage of the overall cost, and automatically gets deducted by PayPal and our local exchange bank before we receive the funds.

INSURANCE: Insurance is currently (2022) not available.

CUSTOMS AND IMPORT DUTY FEES:  If your country charges such fees, it will have to be for your account. PLEASE find out whether your country's Customs department require that we put the invoice on the outside of a package, and inform us when you place your order, because this extra documentation will add to the package's weight, which we have to know when calculating the shipping cost, as it can easily push the package into the next post office pricing category.

PRIVACY POLICY:  Since payment will be going through either PayPal or Yoco, we shall have no access to any customer's banking or credit card details.

RETURNS POLICY:  If you are not completely satisfied with the specimens, you may return them within 48 hours of receipt by you for a refund of the specimen price, minus 10% handling fee, with a minimum charge of $15. Return postage and insurance (if the package had been insured) will have to be paid by you. The parcel must be returned in its original packaging, and must be shipped off within no more than 48 hours of you having received it, for the refund to be valid. We'll then refund you on receipt of the returned package. Returned specimens damaged in transit due to improper packaging will not be refunded. If you receive specimens that have been damaged in transit (although we take good precautions to prevent this), please e-mail us immediately and we'll contact you with details. Please do not discard the original (damaged) packaging! We shall not be able to refund any parcel that has not been either insured or registered and gets lost or damaged in the post.
