Measurements: 49
x 26 x 24 mm
Description: A clear quartz crystal with lovely growth patterns and termination facets. The bottom has re-crystallized, and a minute (6½ mm long) crystal is attached near the centre of it. Inside the
crystal are a few minute balls of
olive-green chlorite (not easily visible with the naked eye, strong
magnification needed - see example). On the surface
are several round indentations, some partially filled with
goethite.
These were probably caused by the chlorite balls that were initially on
the
outside, and only partially embedded in it, but have since eroded away,
prior
to the specimen being mined. The
specimen has a minute nick to its termination point. The lower end,
which is
slightly milky, has a flaw across. There is also a natural pressure
mark, and
bits of iron oxide attached to the specimen. Weight of Specimens: 35.9 g Chemical
