Schorl Crystal Cluster – NERS 023

Measurements:  71 x 66 x 34 mm

Description:  A cluster of schorl crystals with bits of feldspar on them. The yellowish mineral that coats parts of the specimen, is unknown to us.

Some of the smaller schorl crystals have broken off, while some of the terminations have nicks. Despite this bit of damage, it remains a nice specimen, and displays well on a flat surface.

                                       KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar)  

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (schorl)  7.5
