Fluorite Crystal Group on Feldspar - NERF 019

Group of green fluorite crystals with fairly good transparency

Measurements:  20 x 18 x 17 mm

Description:  A group of green fluorite crystals with some having a fairly good transparency, developed over and among bits of feldspar, many with facets. At the bottom of the specimen is a fluorite crystal coated with a dark mineral (unknown to us), of which there are also bits among the feldspar.

The fluorite crystals have only a few minute nicks.

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (fluorite)  4 
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5

Location:  Erongo Mountains, Erongo Region, Namibia.
