Double Terminated Aquamarine with Schorl Crystals and Feldspar - NERA 010

Measurements:  46 x 20 x 15 mm

Description:   A light green, double terminated aquamarine crystal, heavily included with bits of white feldspar, hosts a small cluster of schorl crystals and very small bits of schorl. 

The terminations have only minute nicks, while there is a neat pressure mark on the specimen shaft, near the schorl cluster.

Chemical Composition:  Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈  (aquamarine) 
                                       NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄  (schorl)    
                                       KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aquamarine) 7.5 - 8.0
                                          (schorl)  7.5                                      
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5
