Group of Quartz Crystals in Semi-Geode – NBB 128

Group of quartz crystals in semi-geode

Measurements:  82 x 80 x 60 mm

Description:  A beautiful arrangement of quartz crystals sitting on a thin basalt matrix, in a semi-geode.

The main crystal has a raised area on one of its termination facets, spilling over onto another facet. Two of the small crystals each have a 'fancy' termination point. Several of the crystals in the front have a sprinkling of very minute reddish-brown spots on their front sides, like minute grains of sand, making those areas rough to the touch, but quite nice to look at through magnification.

There is a stable flaw to the back of the main crystal and some damage to some edges of the specimen. Three of the crystals' termination points have a few extremely minute nicks, barely visible with the naked eye.
