Interesting Double and Multi-Terminated Crystal - VAR 009

Interesting double terminated quartz crystal, with both sides being multi-terminated

Measurements:  78 x 35 x 33 mm

Description:  An interesting double terminated quartz crystal, with both sides being multi-terminated.

It has a basic light smoky colouring, and numerous black (?)carbon inclusions, as well as greenish-brown grain-like inclusions of an unknown mineral, on and under the surface.

A few small, mostly very gemmy, quartz crystals, that resemble 'herkimer diamonds', are attached to the main crystal.

There are a few exposed inner surfaces (visible on photographs at bottom of page), that indicates that the initial crystal was coated with a new layer of quartz, at a later stage.

There is a pressure mark to the side of the specimen, and a few small nicks.
