Quartz and Dolomite Crystal Cluster – SWCV 011

Quartz and dolomite crystal cluster

Measurements:  41 x 33 x 23 mm

Description:
The specimen consists of a flattish, double terminated quartz crystal, surrounded by numerous smaller quartz crystals, with a few dolomite crystals and bits of feldspar. When tilted in light, one can see at least one small rainbow to the side of the main crystal. The specimen has only a very light touch of smoky colouring. There are a few (not very obvious) rutile needles in and on the bottom of the specimen.

Damage is limited to one small (lesser) crystal that is broken, and at the bottom, where it parted from its matrix.
