Quartz Crystal Cluster with yellow coating, Vredendal

Measurements:  54 x 46 x 35 mm

Description:  A lovely group of crystals. The yellow colour is due to a coating of iron oxide. The main crystal has a bad nick to its termination and there is some damage to the base of the crystal, but it is still a nice specimen.

Chemical Composition:  SiO2 

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  7                                       

Location:  Vredendal Quarry, Western Cape, South Africa.
