Orange River phantom quartz cluster - Northern Cape, South Africa
Measurements:  50 x 32 x 30 mm

Description:  A cluster of deep orangy-brown phantom quartz crystals, nestled amongst numerous minute, sparkling, clear to orangy-brown quartz crystals.  All sit on a feldspar matrix. There is very little damage to this specimen.

Chemical Composition:  SiO2  (quartz)
                                    KAlSi3O8  (feldspar)  6 - 6.5

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (quartz)  7  
                                      (feldspar)  6 - 6.5
