Tourmaline crystals in double terminated quartz crystal

 Measurements:  100 x 40 x 28 mm

Description:  Green tourmaline crystals embedded in a double terminated quartz crystal. 

The quartz crystal, although not of high quality, has very little damage to it. 

The longest tourmaline crystal is ± 57 mm long and ±  9 mm in diameter.  
Some of the smaller tourmaline crystals are gemmy, but the large one is dark green and flawed.  One of the large tourmaline's terminations is damaged.

Chemical Composition:  Na(Li,Al)3Al6(BO3)3Si6O18(OH)4  (tourmaline)                                            SiO2  (quartz)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (tourmaline)  7 - 7.5
                                      (quartz)  7

Location:  Karibib, Erongo Region, Namibia.
