Quartz Crystal with Lovely Gas Inclusions - NBB 137

quartz crystal with fascinating gas inclusions

Measurements:  81 x 21 x 16 mm

Description:  A quartz crystal with just a hint of light amethyst colouring, and lots of beautiful gas inclusions and only a few minute red and blackish hematite threads and specks. There is a small cloud of milkiness near its centre.

One of the termination facets have a few (only sligthly) raised triangles. Just above midline is a small deposit of milky quartz on the crystal’s shaft facet. Looking at it under strong magnification, one can see numerous very minute facets.

Near the base of the biggest termination facet is a small vertical flaw, that runs a little into the shaft facet. The termination point has no notable damage, and overall the crystal has only a few minute nicks. Near the base of the crystal is a neat blow-out.
