Phantom Quartz Crystal - NBB 039

Clear quartz crystal with a lovely smoky / amethyst phantom

 Measurements:  51 x 13 x 12 mm

Description:  A clear quartz crystal with a lovely smoky / amethyst phantom.  The small bit of mineral to the side of the specimen, is prehnite.  The crystal has a very minute nick to the termination, and some damage to the one side and where it parted from its matrix.

Chemical Composition:  SiO2  (quartz)  
                                    Ca2Al2Si3O10(OH)2  (prehnite)  

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (quartz)  7
                                      (prehnite)  6-6.5
