Quartz Crystal  Group - NBB 027

Quartz crystal group with hint of amethyst colouring

Measurements:  28 x 19 x 12 mm

Description:  A pretty quartz crystal group with just a hint of amethyst colouring in the two bigger crystals. The slender crystal is also a semi-sceptre, and has lovely stepped growth marks. Both bigger crystals have interesting growth patterns on some of their termination facets. The specimen has some really lovely pressure marks (2nd image from top, left, and image top, right). Apart from several minute hematite specks, the specimen is scattered with numerous minute circular shapes on its surface, possibly caused by some other mineral that had eroded away with time, because under magnification, one can see the pitted effect.

The slender crystal has a small nick to the side of one of its termination facets, and a very minute nick to its termination. The other (slightly shorter) crystal appears to be undamaged.
