Measurements: 83 x 60 x 53 mm
Description: An exceptional specimen consisting of a lovely harlequin quartz crystal (38 mm long), together with other clear and harlequin quartz crystals, and well-formed calcite crystals, all sharing a matrix of basalt rock.
The main harlequin crystal, that also has a very faint touch of amethyst colouring, has fairly large dark red hematite inclusions, and a few very small analcime and epidote crystals on its surface.
The termination has a very minute nick, while the rest of the specimen has some damage to the edges, and to three of the lesser crystals near the edge.
The matrix has been trimmed on four sides, and the specimen displays well on a flat surface. The two images (2nd from the top, and bottom left) were taken in natural sunlight.
