Collection of small, red garnets, Erongo, Namibia

Description:  A collection of small red garnets, with a maximum width of 7 mm each.   

They have a beautiful orangy-red colour when held against light. The bottom photograph shows one of the garnets with a strong white light directly behind it. They are not faceting quality.

Chemical Composition:  Ca3Fe32+(SiO4)3   

Hardness on Mohs scale:   6.5-7
